A Patton Township man pleaded guilty in Center County Court on Tuesday to the rape and sexual assault of six women over a nine-year period at his Oakwood Avenue home.

Kevin P. Mullen, 50, was discontinued in November 2021 after one of the women contacted Patton Township police earlier in the year and an investigation identified five other victims.

He pleaded guilty to charges of rape, attempted rape and aggravated indecent assault. Sentencing is scheduled for a later date.

“Today Kevin Mullen pleaded guilty to committing violent sexual crimes against several women, after luring them to his home under false pretences,” said Attorney General Josh Shapiro, whose office is prosecuting the case, in a press release. While it is impossible to undo the damage Mullen caused, today’s guilty plea is a step towards justice for these women,” said Attorney General Josh Shapiro.

According to a criminal complaint, Mullen met each of the women online, saying he was looking for a housekeeper or “someone to cuddle with.”

The first alleged rape took place in 2012. A woman told investigators that Mullen raped her after responding to a Craigslist ad for a cleaning job. After the assault, Mullen allegedly locked her in a bedroom and she used a butter knife to remove the pins from the door and escape.

Subsequent rapes or sexual assaults took place in 2017, 2019, 2020 and March of this year. Each of the women described similar details of their encounters with Mullen, according to the complaint.

Mullen allegedly told three of the women that he raped others and “ran away”.

He has been held at the Center County Correctional Facility since his arrest.
