Public urination is a real problem for this Michigan town

What do you do when you need to relieve yourself and there is absolutely nowhere to go? Well, apparently in this bustling Michigan city, you go where you want and that includes streets, sidewalks and alleys.

Sure, it’s a natural thing, but that doesn’t mean people want to see it happen in public. Unfortunately, those people who pee in public don’t have many options.

A lot of people say it’s a problem and they want the problems fixed.

Where is public urination a problem?

Peeing in public is a real problem in downtown Ann Arbor and city officials are working on some kind of resolution.

It’s not something only a few people have noticed and complained about. Apparently, students, elderly residents, and even city officials are all saying it’s a big deal.

Ann Arbor Student:

I think that’s really disrespectful. I’m a student on this campus and it’s not something you want to see happen on your way to class.

According Fox 2 Detroitone of the reasons this happens is that A2 promoted so many downtown events and attractions, but it left people without enough places to properly relieve themselves.

Lots of people have to pee in the alleyways because many businesses don’t allow them to use their toilets. Forcing people to buy food or clothes in exchange for using the toilet is a disgusting way to do business.

The Ann Arbor City Council recently passed a resolution asking the city administrator to consider what it would take to develop public restrooms throughout downtown. Obviously, cost is the main issue.

At the moment, there is no timeline for when something like this would happen.

It’s hard to pick on those people who pee in public when there’s no public restroom to use. I mean, when you have to go, you have to go.
