Actor Sydney Sweeney to star in upcoming adaptation of author Marcus Kliewer’s short story The Guardian. She will also executive produce the film under the Fifty-Fifty banner with partner Jonathan Davino. The film will be distributed by Universal. According to a report from Deadline, The Guardian revolves around a young woman who takes a job as a babysitter from Craigslist and eventually learns that her responsibilities have dangerous stakes.
Karl Gajdusek known for co-writing The king’s man will adapt the script to The Guardian. However, the director of the film has not yet been chosen. Michael Bay and Brad Fuller will executive produce the film, through their Platinum Dunes banner, as well as Scott Glassgold through his Ground Control banner. Meanwhile, Sweeney shot to fame with her performance in Euphoria and The White Lotus.
