Things don’t really seem to surprise us anymore. At least not like they used to – like they did when you were a kid, and the whole world was big and foreign. Now we have the Internet, with Comments and data sheets galore, and it sucks a lot of the mystery and wonder of things. With cars and their easily comparable horsepower, torque and weight figures, the problem is even worse.

However, sometimes we can still be surprised. No matter how many first drives you read, how many specs you cross-check, there’s always the chance for a car to change what you think once you get behind the wheel. You can set all the expectations you want in forum threads and comments, but cars – for better or worse – can always feel different in person. With that in mind, let’s discuss: which car defied your expectations?
